Frequently Asked Questions
What’s your approach to therapy?
I believe that healing is a highly unique journey that takes courage, curiosity, and acceptance, but frankly, it looks just a little bit different for everyone. Over the years, I have developed a strong interest in working with individuals navigating life transitions whether that is college, graduate school, becoming a parent, significant relationship changes, grief and loss, or career related shifts. Oftentimes we can feel overwhelmed, disengaged, anxious, and uncertain about what is yet to come amidst all this change. You are ready for something different, you are ready to live a more fulfilling and connected life.
I strive to help you find a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and your experience. Mindfulness and the power of relationship are core elements of my work while also using narrative, existential, and ACT interventions. I believe in and utilize a holistic approach to healing, centering your voice and empowering you to create meaningful change.
Navigating big life questions and transitions can be challenging, to say the least. Let’s work together as you traverse these changes and create a richer, more meaningful life.
I am committed to creating a space that is non-judgmental, culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, LGBTQIA affirming, and sex positive.
How does this outdoor therapy work?
If we decide that Walk & Talk sessions align with your goals in therapy, we will meet at a local park and be outside for the duration of the session. With this modality, there are limits to confidentiality as we won’t be in a private office. If the temperatures are too cold, or being outdoors in unsafe, we will opt to meet virtually.
What are the benefits of outdoor therapy?
It’s an hour each week to step away from our screens and re-engage with our natural world. Therapy can feel more grounded and meaningful when we are observing wildlife, moving mindfully, and tending to our nervous systems.
What if outdoor sessions aren’t my thing?
That’s totally okay! We can still do meaningful work together through virtual sessions on a HIPAA compliant video platform.
Do you accept insurance?
In order to give clients more autonomy and agency over their mental health care, I have chosen to not have contracts with insurance companies. The agreed upon fees for sessions are due at the time of service.
